FAQs

    • What is a Ring Doorbell?
      • The Ring Doorbell is a front door security system that is activated when a visitor presses the door button on your Ring and you receive a notification on your smartphone. The video doorbell also notifies you when it detects motion outside your door, and you can access a live view of your porch. In addition, you can speak with guests to give instructions or let them know you are coming to the door. Ring doorbells connect to the internet using Wi-Fi and are battery-powered, making installation easy.
    • Which Ring Doorbell are you offering?
      • The doorbell we are offering at no-cost is the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus. Click here for more product information: Ring Video Doorbell.
    • How are you able to offer it at no cost?
      • AgeOptions is one of ten Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) across the country to participate in a new program from USAging. USAging has teamed up with Ring on a new community initiative to help older adults maintain their independence and quality of life as they age. Ring is donating up to 5,000 Ring devices nationwide and a free subscription for the life of each device. Read more in this USAging press release.
    • Isn’t there a subscription that you need for Ring Doorbells?
      • Yes, there is a subscription that will come with your device. Without getting too technical, the camera devices have the subscriptions already attached to the devices, and it will be activated once the user activates their account and completes installation of the device.
        • Something to note—The subscription is only for the donated devices and will not cover any other Ring devices purchases before or after receiving the donated devices. For these products, a lifetime subscription to Ring Protect Plan is included.
    • Is there any special products for caregivers in addition to the Ring Doorbell?
      • Yes, we also have available the Ring Stick Up Camera, for interested and qualified caregivers. Please inquire more information from AgeOptions.
    • How will my Ring Device be installed if I am chosen to receive a device?
      • We will have two processes for installation:
          1. A self-install option.
            • AgeOptions will send you information on the installation.
          2. An assisted installation, AgeOptions is finalizing this process.
